Every vehicle leaves a CO2 footprint throughout its entire life-cycle – from procurement and production to usage and recycling or disposal of raw materials and other materials. CO2 equivalents (CO2e) are a unit of measurement to standardise the climate impact of different greenhouse gases, such as methane.
Emissions generated along the supply chain, by transport logistics and upstream energy provision, are reported as CO2e. Electricity produced from regenerative in-house generation systems, direct supply contracts and certified proof of origin are all taken into account when allowing for electricity from renewable energy sources.

For vehicles with combustion engines, the largest percentage of CO2e is generated during their usage phase, based on WLTP consumption and a mileage of 200,000 km (approx. 125.000 mls). We therefore place great emphasis on efficiency measures in the design process and also provide an insight into driving statistics in the MINI app.
Emission values in the life-cycle assessment are model- and equipment-specific and are given here for the MINI Cooper C left-hand drive version. The figures throughout the various life-cycle phases will differ for other models we offer.

It is therefore a key element of the BMW Group Sustainability Strategy. Key factors affecting greater driving enjoyment coupled with lower consumption include lightweight construction through the use of an optimised material mix with high-strength steels.
Moreover, favourable aerodynamic properties MINI Cooper with a drag coefficient value from 0.29 increase efficiency through the use of aerodynamic wheels, intelligent air flap control and a smooth vehicle underbody. This optimises the consumption of the MINI Cooper C to 6.2 – 5.9 l/100 km (45.6 – 47.9 mpg).
But you, the driver, as ever, are also a crucial influencing factor. You can save fuel through an efficient driving style, depending on the route and traffic situation.
We adhere to these principles of circularity in order to conserve natural resources and retain high-quality materials in circulation over the long term. We therefore use secondary materials in new components. In addition, we are also increasing the recyclability of components through the design process and in product development.
The new MINI Cooper C has a calculated secondary material content of approx. 22%. This value has been calculated at its start of production in 2024 on specific supplier records as well as on average industry values and includes production residues.

Depending on the material, the use of secondary materials can make a major contribution to reducing the CO2e footprint.
In relation to the entire vehicle, at least 85% of materials are recycled and, including thermal utilisation, at least 95% as stipulated by legal requirements (European End-of-Life Vehicles Directive ELV 2000 /53 /EC). And, in accordance with current regulations, we also currently take back and recycle used vehicles at over 2,800 redemption points in 30 countries.

The MINI Countryman contributes to a more sustainable future. We use secondary materials and green energy during production, optimising the CO2 footprint of the MINI Countryman even before we hand it over to you. The MINI Vehicle Footprint offers information along the entire life cycle of a MINI. Get an overview of selected ecological and social effects of your vehicle based on the main parameters.
It is classified as a "MINI SUV" or subcompact crossover – the smallest class of body-on-frame SUV and is engineered for off-road use with a ALL4 four-wheel drive. You could say the MINI Countryman is a big small SUV. Thanks to MINI’s creative use of space, it makes use of every centimetre. The high roof gives the tallest driver plenty of headroom, there's lots of leg room and the wide interior offers passengers plenty of space to find their space. It is one of the biggest small SUVs in the rear, too, and can comfortably accommodate two tall adults in the back, behind a couple of similar-sized people sitting in the front. Its back seats fold to offer extra boot space or legroom, with up to 1,390 litres of room to use. It’s a practical family car with premium looks but still tough, rugged and versatile enough to let you have serious offroad fun.
ALL4 all-wheel drive. The ALL4 system is an electro-hydraulic all-wheel drive system that uses an electronically managed hydraulic pump located on the rear axle to distribute torque to the front and rear wheels. It effectively splits engine power between the front and rear wheels on a 50/50 basis by default but redistributes 100% of power back to the front wheels on demand. This gives you all the control you need for all roads in all seasons.
The ground clearance or ride height of a car measures the least distance between the lower end of the vehicle body (chassis) and the road. So it defines the lowermost part of your MINI in comparison to the ground. The unladen ground clearance of the MINI Countryman is 165 mm, which is optimal if you are going to do a lot of driving on bumpy roads or encounter uneven surfaces and potholes.
Our range of 17-20” (up to 21" as accessory) elegant or sporty alloy wheels will greatly enhance your ride and give your MINI Countryman a very bold, individual look. Just select your engine performance and then choose from the selection of corresponding seasonal summer and cold weather wheels. As a general-purpose size, you might find 16" the most versatile. But the size of wheel is subjective as it really depends on your taste in design and your priorities. MINI is establishing a whole new aesthetic through our use of textiles. The new material we use on the dash and door panels creates an especially comfortable ambience. The fabric is high-quality and easy to clean. It offers a luxurious tactile experience, more design options, and serves as the perfect canvas for showing your exciting projections in the different MINI Experience Modes. And we’ll continue to explore further ways to develop materials that fulfil the demanding criteria when it comes to feel, appearance and wear resistance.
